  16. Lap swimmers follow lap swim etiquette:
    • Lap Swimming Etiquette – Most patrons come to the recreation center to swim laps.  During peak hours the swimming lanes get crowded causing frustration for the swimmers.  These guidelines will help establish friendly lap swimming:
    • Expect to share a lane and circle swim when there are more than 2 people in a lane
    • Try to swim with others of your own pace
    • Do not dive into the lanes
    • Swim in a COUNTERCLOCKWISE direction staying to the right of the lane
    • Pass only when the passing lane is clear
    • Move to the extreme right corners of the lane if stopping for a moment
    • Avoid congregating at the end walls or hanging on the lane lines
    • Be considerate of others particularly when using hand paddles, or fins to avoid injury to other swimmers.
