August 15th is Nation Relaxation Day! Prioritizing rest and relaxation are essential to maintain your physical and mental well-being, especially while taking on the student workload. Rutgers Recreation offers several services/classes to help you relax and take care of yourself!
Massage Therapy
Massage Therapy is an excellent way to relax, improve mood, relieve muscle pain, and help improve sleep. The massage rooms at Rutgers are peacefully designed for a relaxation experience and include air-infused aroma therapy. Massage therapy rooms are located at the Sonny Werblin Recreation Center and the Cook/Douglass Recreation Center.
Yoga Classes
Yoga is a fantastic way to relax and move your body. Rutgers Recreation offers several yoga classes on all campuses, but Restorative yoga is known mainly for its relaxing properties. Yoga is a perfect, low-impact exercise that helps lower stress and anxiety while benefiting your sleeping habits and overall mental health. Yoga is an excellent way for students to take time for themselves and unwind from the chaos of everyday life. Check out the Fitness and Wellness Schedule to find a class!
Sunset Kayaking
Adventure Recreation offers several different activities that are great ways to relax, such as Sunset Kayaking. This activity is ideal for unwinding, getting outside, and enjoying the outdoors. Sunset Kayaking along the Raritan River is perfect for a relaxing evening because it is a slow-moving experience, and the sunset view over New Brunswick is ultimately peaceful! There are several Sunset Kayaking offerings every semester!
