Swimming
The Club Swim Team welcomes all students, but is suggested for students who would like to “continue their swimming careers at a competitive level, with less of a time commitment compared to varsity athletics.” Nevertheless, participating on the swim team is a beneficial pursuit that has benefits such as links to better sleep, improved cognition, and boosts overall mood. These are things that are incredibly important for college students to maintain, and the social opportunities that come with being a part of a team make it a good option to consider this year!

Pickleball
Pickleball is a paddle sport combining elements of tennis, badminton, and ping pong. Played on a rectangular court with a net in the middle, players use solid paddles to hit a perforated plastic ball over the net. The game is easy to learn, making it accessible to people of all ages and skill levels. It’s often described as a social sport that promotes physical activity and mental agility, making it a perfect fit for the vibrant Rutgers community.
The Rutgers Club Pickleball is more than just a sports club; it’s a tight-knit community where students, faculty, and staff come together to share their love for the game. Here’s a closer look at what makes this club so special:

The club organizes regular practice sessions, coaching workshops, and intra-club tournaments. This allows players to hone their abilities and challenge themselves in a supportive environment.
- Social Bonding: Pickleball at Rutgers is not just about the game; it’s also about fostering friendships and building a strong sense of community. The club hosts social events, potlucks, and other gatherings, creating a relaxed and inviting atmosphere for all members to connect and have fun off the court.
- Competitive Spirit: For those seeking a more competitive experience, the Rutgers Club Pickleball participates in regional and national tournaments. This gives members a chance to test their skills against players from other universities and clubs. It’s a fantastic opportunity to showcase Rutgers’ pickleball talent on a larger stage.
