Intramural Sports Registration Opens: Basketball, soccer, volleyball & cricket

Metabolic and Body Composition Assessment (In-Body Testing): A non-invasive body composition analysis that uses bioelectrical impedance technology. You will leave with a printout providing a body composition breakdown (skeletal muscle mass, body fat mass, and body fat percentage), lean body mass and total body water and basal metabolic rate.  

For best results, be well hydrated but do not eat or drink 2-3 hours before the test. 

Avoid exercise, alcohol and caffeine for at least 6–12 hours before .

Fitness & Wellness Friday: An afternoon of motivation and fresh energy to start off the Spring Semester.  Our classes are always beginner-friendly.  

  • Metabolic and Body Composition Assessment (In-Body Testing): 1:00–5:00 PM 

  • Fitness Classes (Yoga, Pilates, BodyPump® & more), view schedule here 

  • Intro to Self-Defense: 3:00 PM-3:45 PM, Multi-purpose room. Registration is not required but recommended.

  • Spinning Marathon 3:30–5:00 PM, Spin Studio: Ride at your own pace as the bike calculates your mileage for a marathon —26.2 miles. Our instructors will guide and motivate you through a sing-along (all the songs you know the words to!) themed class. Miles can be completed in 1–1.5 hours.  Open to all fitness levels—Free registration is encouraged here; drop-in participants will be accepted if there are open bikes at 3:25 PM.  

  • Chair Massage: 1:00–5:00 PM

Family Float & Fins: Finding Nemo Dive-In
7:00–9:00 PM

Our personal trainers are here to guide you through the fundamentals of strength training and ensure that you get a great workout while learning how to lift weights correctly and effectively. You will learn how to use various machines in the fitness center and will leave the session with your own workout.

Jockey Hollow Hiking Trip: Enjoy this easy 6.5-mile trail along gurgling streams and rolling hills in the beautiful Morristown National Historical Park. We will be taking the Grand Loop Trail, originally patrolled by the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War.  The $20 trip fee includes transportation leaving the Cook/Douglass Recreation Center.

RU Swim School Event: Join us for a 2-hour swim lesson, with participants grouped by swimming comfort level. All equipment will be provided.  Participants should bring a swimsuit, towel, and optional goggles and enter the pool through the locker rooms.

NJ Devils Trip: Join us for an evening of Hockey and fun.  Come with friends or meet new people. This program includes round-trip bus transportation and a post-game photo on the ice.  $10 registration includes ticket and transportation. The bus will pick up and drop off on Morrell Street, located between the College Ave Student Center

Glow in the Dark Dance Event: Join Rutgers Recreation in the ultimate high-energy kickoff to the semester — a one-hour glow dance party featuring your favorite instructors and dance formats! Enjoy styles from Zumba, Hip Hop, and Bollyshape® led by instructors you already know and love. Come ready in sneakers and white or neon clothing to glow, groove, and light up . No experience is needed; beginners are always welcome.

Snow Tubing Trip: Hit the slopes with us at Mountain Creek and spend the afternoon snow tubing! This is a great way to have fun on a cold winter day. Sign up with friends or come out and make some new ones! The reduced ticket price ($30) includes transportation from campus (Cook/Douglass Recreation center) as well as a two-hour tubing session.
