Rutgers recreation strongly recommends that you:

  • Find a space that is suitable for activity and free of hazards

  • Take breaks when needed and drink plenty of water

  • Go at your own pace and use modifications when needed

  • Stop exercising if you feel lightheaded or dizzy

  • Have an annual physical examination and follow the advice of your health care provider before participating.

Do What Moves U Class Challenge

JOIN US FOR THE FITNESS & WELLNESS CLASS CHALLENGE!  Register before April 16th here.

Challenge dates:  April 12th through May 1st

#RUTOGETHER The connections you make sharing the highs and lows of exercising together not only provide motivation in the moment, but they can also form the foundation of a social group that supports your health and wellness goals.

PRIZES:

Weekly raffle prizes:  2-$25 Digital Amazon gift cards.  All participants who have attended at least one class will be included

Grand raffle prizes:  2- $50 Amazon Gift Cards. All participants those who have completed 10 or more classes by May 1st.

Class participation for all challenge participants will be available on a leaderboard. Class attendance will be updated daily.

The Goal is to attend 10 or more classes over a 3-week period.  The Challenge includes all Rutgers Recreation fitness & wellness classes (Virtual and in-person). Participation in the challenge is free

 

In-person Classes: Both indoor and outdoor classes are held at Werblin Rec Center. All classes require a reservation and can be made up to 5 days in advance.  Make a reservation here.

Virtual Classes: Virtual classes require a registration. Registration is always open and the zoom link will be in the confirmation email.  (please note that on-demand classes are not included in the challenge) Register here.

Exercise Is Medicine–On Campus is a program that wants to motivate and encourage all students, faculty, and staff on campus to find ways to stay physically active whether it’s at your home, at school, at the gym, or at the park!

Due to the current circumstances, we want to continue offering our services (for FREE of course!) to help all students, faculty, and staff to stay active right at the convenience of your home!

Moving forward we will be offering Exercise Is Medicine–Online Coaching! The Exercise is Medicine–On Campus coach, Pricilla Santana, will contact you to set a date and time.

Learning to dive has never been easier and more fun! Come join us in the underwater world, where there is always something new & interesting!

The PADI Open Water Diver course uses PADI’s latest learning materials to teach you to dive. Use our REMOTE LEARNNG option to complete the knowledge development potion of your open water course. During this time we are offering the Open Water course using self study with eLearning and Instructor- led remote sessions.
