The highlights of our facilities are our three pools, reflecting the latest in design and functionality. These include an Olympic-sized pool that meets all world standards and another that raises and lowers its floor to accommodate a variety of recreational activities!

College Ave Gym

Rutgers’ original training and competition pool located in the College Avenue Gym on the College Avenue Campus is now used for many recreational and instructional programs. This indoor heated pool has 4 lanes, is 25 yards long with depths ranging from 8 to 10 feet and is connected to a smaller pool with an all around depth of 3 feet.

Sonny Werblin Recreation Center

The Sonny Werblin Recreation Center, located on the Busch Campus, features the Rutgers Aquatic Center, one of the finest facilities of its kind in the country. The complex houses an Olympic Pool which is 50 meters long by 25 meters wide with a 17-foot diving well and a 10-meter diving tower, and an L-shaped pool referred to as the Patio Pool that has a moveable floor which can be set at depths from zero to six feet. The Patio Pool is heated to 85 degrees, which is perfect for recreational swimming, playing water basketball, exercising, hanging out and having fun.

Cook/Douglass Recreation Center

Rutgers Rec Facilities 2010

The Cook/Douglass Recreation Center has an 8 Lane, 25 Meter Recreational Swimming Pool. The pool is available for open swim, lap swimming, swim lessons, SCUBA programs, certification courses, intramural sports and special event programming.

The Rutgers Aquatics division offers ALERT (Aquatics Leadership Emergency Response Training) AND American Red Cross Training for CPR and First Aid. To browse or register, please click here.

We are currently not offering family swim. Please check back for updates.

COST

$5.00 per child • $10.00 per adult (Fee is for admittance into aquatics facility, even if the adult does not swim.) Adult with valid Rutgers ID is admitted FREE (ID must be presented at time of purchase AND on pool deck as proof of membership.)
